1962

Professor Kantorowich granted £1,000 to investigate the idea of providing travelators down Oxford Road.

1963

Policy Committee was formed. This comprised of representatives from the City, the College and the University and formed the joint venture of the Education Precinct.

1970

Various technical and vocational colleges in the city joined to form Manchester Polytechnic.

BUSINESS SCHOOL AND PRECINCT

Transport Working Party set up. This was comprised of the City Engineer, the City Planning Officer, Manchester & Salford Polic, S.E.L.N.E.C, PTE and Wilson and Womersley to co-ordinate issues related to the Precinct Plan, public transport, private travel, car parking and the development of the highway network.
